For this episode we talk about two documentaries that deal with similar topics: “Framing Britney Spears” and “This Is Paris.”

“Framing Britney Spears” follows the Free Britney movement, which is dedicated to releasing the pop star from a conservatorship where her father controls all of her finances and medical decisions.

“This Is Paris” focuses on another millennial celebrity: Paris Hilton. The documentary delves into her childhood experiences at boarding schools where she alleges that she was physically and emotionally abused.

Our youth film critics got together on Zoom to talk about the movies, including how celebrity culture has changed since the early 2000’s, and the ways that society addresses mental health issues among youth in America.
