Calling All Youth Filmmakers: After School Special 2020!!!

Submissions are now open for ATMI’s annual youth film screening “After School Special,” as part of this year’s Anchorage International Film Festival. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s festival will be virtual, taking place from December 4 to December 13. Which means that you can watch any of our selected youth-produced films from the comfort of your home, anytime during those dates. (More details soon.)
With the festival being online, it provides a unique opportunity for communities all over Alaska to take part in the festival and experience the works of our state’s aspiring filmmakers!
Filmmakers must be 21 years old or younger.
Films must be no longer than 10 minutes long and must have been made in 2020.
All genres accepted, but please be tasteful with your content. (Some films may be labeled with a disclaimer for more adult-themed content. Films that include content that ATMI staff deem unsuitable for youth audiences may be disqualified for selection.)
This year there will also be awards! Judge’s Choice Award, the ATMI Golden Yeti Award, and an Audience Choice Award.
Submit your film here!
Submissions close November 29, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
During this pandemic, ATMI encourages youth to adhere to these best practices. We understand that each youth reporter will have their own family rules and comfort levels as well. All activities associated with this project can be done remotely.
